She hid in the shadows watching the little boy pace his room. She noticed his favorite dinosaur pajamas hanging on the wobbly wooden chair. The teddy bear he received for Christmas was guarding a pack of toy soldiers in the far corner of the dusty bookshelf.

He left the room but returned promptly with a hand mirror. She groaned as she spied his smiling reflection in the glass. His front tooth wobbled like the old wooden chair. She wanted to scream, “Do you need some string?” but withheld her voice because a magical fairy shouldn’t be rude to her customers.
