It draws us in, this television commercial showing the faces of those in Darfur who are victims of war, starvation and rape.
They show it nearly every day, sometimes several times a day. It tugs at our hearts and we resolve that something must be done.
Then the organization producing the commercial -- www.savedarfur.org -- explains the root cause. It has nothing to do with sadistic Islamic killers or territorial anarchists. It isn't because of the grinding poverty of the nation or the corruption of its government.
Now we understand the real reason for the terrible misery in Darfur: It's Bush's fault.
