As today is Friday the 13th, we'd like to see stories having to do with a run of really bad luck.

As the ole blues line goes: "if it were for bad luck I would have no luck at all."
For a long time that was me that way: well except for Friday the 13th and the period around full moons when things started to go slighly better for me.
It got so bad some years that I would scare off black cats; unwilling to cross my path.
The worst batch of bad luck was one January in Washington DC. I got hit by cars so often that people would walk home with me to see if I would get hit.

Not Again:
The doctor’s stare could not be read.
Why was I trying? His voice will carry the news soon enough.
Yet another doctor entered the room, his face solemn and
expressionless as well.
Two doctors can’t be good.
As they began, I felt nearly weightless, their words carrying news
I could not hear. My body was falling forward without moving, my
breathing uncontrolled.
The words became a buzz saw in my head. Cutting and tearing apart
all my hopes, my dreams.
No tea parties with dollies.
No make-up.
No dressing up, or shoe shopping.
The words, they echoed – “It’s a boy.”

New here, did I get this down right?
He walked into the room as if he owned it.
But the entire house had been theirs for over 200 years.
A quick conversation in the eternal and they’d decided what to do.
“Push him from behind, that’ll freak him out.”
He just scratched his butt. Surprising.
They turned to the youngest soul. “Your turn, FNG.”
“Just my luck”, he said, “this kid gotta go. I’ve been the FNG for 37 years.”
So FNG possessed his body and threw him down the stairs.
They walked into the room as if they owned it.
“Your turn, new guy.”
“Just my luck.”

Haha! I can't decide if G stands for Guy or Ghost. Either way, I like the story!
And welcome, Dan!
