‘Hey pops, that’s a great line! I hope you don’t mind if I use it’. The old man turned ‘What line?’. ‘That line’ said the youngster pointing. ‘Oh, what’s so great about it?’. ‘Well it turns!’ the old man shook his head ‘I don’t know if I want others turning my line’. The youngster appeared to think ‘Where I can get one?’. The old man looked worried ‘That’s not a good idea, things could get a bit confusing if there were two of them…’ The youngster smiled ‘oh, well, thanks anyway’ and walked away. The old man smirked to himself.

Connie staggered half asleep through the door. Drooping crookedly behind her desk she focused on the monotony. It seemed hard most mornings to rejoin routine. Pretend her life had not altered two weeks ago. Broken memories jarred heightened senses. A storm had etched its perfection across the night. Ideal Inspiration for a failing artist enslaved in art school. “Hey God!” she had yelled enthralled by the display. “That’s a great line! I hope you don’t mind if I use it.” Grabbing her charcoal she copied the image. The immense heat had melted away the cold. Her body twisted, strengthening.

Imagination sat morosely looking at the Sea of Ideas. This was his favourite spot. Sometimes the fishing here was plentiful. At other times he went home empty handed, having nonetheless enjoyed himself immensely.
He hadn’t heard Creativity approach. He walked quietly for his size.
“That’s a great line! Would you mind if I used it?”
“It’s broken.” sighed Imagination.
“Reality’s been through recently right?”
“Yes earlier today.”
“It’s not completely broken though - look.” Creativity carefully picked up the rod and deftly rethreaded the line around the broken section.
“Fixed! Never forget, Reality doesn’t stand a chance if we stick together.”
