The man hurried through the large crowd upstairs. He had no time to dance. He needed information, and fast. Soon he was at the back of the club and headed down a twisting stairway. He knocked on the metal door at the bottom of the stairs, when a voice called out.
"What's the password?"
"New England Clam Chowder."
"Is that the red, or the white?"
"I can never remember that. White?"
Without another word, the metal door slid open revealing...
"Dude, you can't use that."
"Why not?"
"That's from Ace Ventura."
"So? It's not like anyone remembers that movie anyway."

"Red or white?"
"Actually I'd like both red and white."
"Well, that would delay your order by at least a week because of the extra work involved. Anyway, I think just one or the other would look very nice."
"No, I'm afraid I have my heart set on both colors, starting with red at the top and then alternating all the way to the bottom, thirteen in all."
"Very well then, I'll get right to work."
"Thank you Ms. Ross. Could you also add thirteen stars on a blue field?"
"Of course, General Washington; will those be red or white?"

David Steinberg invented the Cherry Surprise in his New York confectionery in 1893. Unfortunately, the product never had the success he envisioned.
His colleagues begged him to make some changes but, being a man not easily dissuaded, he steadfastly refused.
Years went by and David traveled the country far and wide promoting his product. He even gave samples away on street corners. But, sad to say, his bold idea just never caught on and the few boxes purchased were almost always returned.
Perhaps if he had used cherries instead of olives with his chocolate, he might have had more success.

"Olives" should have been "mothballs."
Or something.
Crap.
