Some trick-or-treaters have shown up a day early.

"Fuck off!" I screamed, throwing a stick at the car as it screeched from the driveway.

The evening started off happily enough. My old friends, Shaun and Pamela came over for a visit. I hadn't seen them for ages and was happy when they called me two nights earlier.

At 6:30, we were eating dinner over stories and laughter.

About 8:15, I was kicking them out of the house and chasing them to their vehicle after they tried recruiting me to Amway.

I could be forgiven for not seeing this coming, for not seeing their masks.

Halloween wasn’t till tomorrow.
