It seemed much easier for all the other presidential candidates. They all had plenty of volunteers, lots of cash and the adoring news media followed them everywhere.
No so with Melvin Scrubb's campaign.
From the beginning Melvin seemed incapable of communicating a message of hope. His vision for the future seemed unstructured and chaotic. Contributions were few and he had to beg for each and every one.
At the end, he was reduced to mowing lawns and providing budget taxi services just to keep his campaign going. It was humiliating.
It wasn't easy being the Anarchist Party candidate for president.
