The Birth of a New Day:

Edward lifted himself to his knees. Not noticing the blood dripping from his elbows, he took his first real look around the tiny woodland shack. It was cold and the windows were frosted over, there’d been no time for a fire.

Edward’s wife lay beneath him in a pool of her blood, and Edward was experiencing an emotion he never had before.

The first glint of early morning sun caught the frost on the window, and prismed through to create a euphoric image, that matched Edward’s emotion. He looked down into his wife’s eyes and whispered, “Let’s name her, -- Dawn!”
