It's Halloween!
In the spirit of the season, write--
A love story.

Halloweewee:
Tommie knew Suzie was only walking with him because her mother
told her to. But, Tommie saw this as opportunity. Opportunity to let
Suzie know, she was his destiny.
“Let’s cross the street here” Tommie persuaded, adjusting his storm-
trooper helmet.
“There’s another house this way” Suzie griped, shaking her treat bag,
estimating its weight.
“That’s old-man Parkinson’s house” Tommie stammered,
thoughts of flying monkeys, rabid yellow dogs, Everything Scary
flashing through his mind.
“So what!” Suzie poked him with her fairy wand.
Then Suzie saw the fear in Tommie’s eyes – and laughed so hard
she wet her pink tights.

Kevin exhaled into his hand and smelled rot. He’d brushed his teeth, gargled, and even chewed gum on his way to Kyoko’s house, but the stink was still there.
It was a green smell – the smell of something rancid taking root inside and decaying; infecting him until his insides festered, turning to sludge.
He couldn’t ring the bell.
She’d smell his stink and be horrified. She’d cry and run away. She’d tell everyone.
He fingered the knife in his jacket pocket and told himself that he wasn’t going to cut her.
Even if she mocked.
This date would be different.

Alternate Ending:
“So what!” Suzie poked him with her fairy wand.
Then Suzie saw the fear in Tommie’s eyes – and started to laugh,
so Tommie ate her brains.

How do you know so much about my house, kasac?

I was a very sheltered child. My father was very much a scaredee cat. The scariest things I had seen were "The Wizrd of Oz" and "Ole Yellar" and let's face it, those flying monkeys are scary.
