You're awakened by noises coming from under your bed...

“Mommy! Mommy!”

“For goodness’ sake, Timmy. Why aren’t you asleep?”

“I hear noises under the bed, Mommy. Will you look and make sure there’s nothing under there?”

“I most certainly will not! You’re too old to be afraid of noises in the night. Now go to sleep!”

The scuffling noises resumed a few moments after she left the room. Then IT appeared, crawling out from under the bed. The monster was hideous; with misshapen appendages, eyes set forward on its head, and topped with a shocking mop of hair.

“Mommy!” Timmy screamed as he pulled his eyestalks under the blanket.
