Hello? hello ... can you hear me? ... am I on air?
Yes indeed you are. Go ahead please.
oh. HI Chris! I just love your program ... we think you are wonderful.
That's great, thanks for listening. Now, what do you think about our topic today?
Oh I don't know, I just called to say I'm your number one fan and I wanted to bake you one of my famous apple pies - do you think I could bring it to you at the station today? or I could bring it to your house if you prefer ...

‘Welcome to talk radio. You're on the air.’
‘Hello.’
‘Hello, little listener.’
‘Hello.’
‘Does Mummy or Daddy know that you’re on the phone to me?’
‘No, but Martin does.’
‘And who might Martin be, sweetie?’
‘Martin’s my polar bear rug. Mummy bought him for my room a couple of months ago. But he only just started speaking to me this week.’
‘Oh, I see…I used to have a friend like Martin when I was about your age.’
‘Martin’s going to fly me to Grandma’s; he’s waiting for me by my bedroom window.’
‘Sweetie, may I please speak with your Mummy?’

“Welcome to talk radio, you are on the air.”
“Hi Doc, Norman here, I don’t feel so good.”
“What are your symptoms?”
“Kinda weak and shaky.”
“When last did you eat?”
“Wife made a mushroom omelette for breakfast.”
“How’s she feeling?”
“Said she wasn’t hungry; just made me one.”
“How fresh were these mushrooms?”
“Came out the garden this morning.”
“Where do you live, Norman?”
“Hilton.”
“Now, field mushrooms are perfectly fine. Poisonous death caps look similar but have no antidote. So, how are things with the wife, Norm?” Chuckles. “Out of time, I’m afraid. Thank you for calling. Goodbye.”
