January 8, 2009. A new year, a new president, a new era.

The Secret Service in their new black robes lined the walkway as the Unpronounceable One oozed to the podium and laid a tentacle on the grimoire for the swearing-in. The Morningstar looked on from his position as vice-president (or President of Vice, as the position was now called). Translators spoke of his oath to protect the Constitution, to ensure the pursuit, and to inflame the minds. The populace writhed and screamed, presumably in approval.

America had spoken. People were no longer voting for the lesser of two evils.
