While on the tour of the White House, I don't think I was supposed to see the sheet of paper marked, "To Attack -- Important."

Afghanistan and Iraq, of course, had check marks beside them. One name was crossed out, but there was just enough still showing to make out "Libya." Iran was underlined; France and Russia were followed by question marks. A hand-scrawled note said, "Keep an eye out; may cause more trouble."

Seeing Canada at the bottom of the list was a surprise. So were the circles around it, the stars by the sides, the seven or eight underlines...
