David: Conspiracy, Man!
“At first they were just observing us, hovering invisibly above and watching us. Then, they started taking us, one or two at a time. They took the ones no one would ever believe, and they studied us, probed us, learned how we worked.
“Then, they started chipping us so they could track us wherever we went, and control our minds. Bu they could only manage a few of us at a time. Now they have mind-control lasers to shoot us all from space. I’m telling you, man, we’ve been conquered and we don’t even know it.”
“Oh, chew your cud.”

Dave: Crazy after All These Years
"Get out! Get the hell out!" Roger shouted. He pounded on his desk where he'd broken the glass. Shards slammed into his flesh. Pain helped.
"You've hurt yourself," she purred. "Let me --"
"Out!' He slammed his bloody hand down again, shook his violently head like a horse dislodging a fly, then pulled out his automatic, pointing it at her unsteadily. "You heard me!"
"Foolish mortal. You don't want to do that." Her voice was musk and honey and iron.
"No, but if you don't back out of this office right now, Ishtar, I'll do this." He put the barrel of the gun to his temple.

Jeff R.:Little Thieves
They stole my wife's engagement ring, just before our fifth anneversary. She left it on the counter while doing the dishes, and we never saw it again. We planned to replace it, with a bigger stone, but then there was the cancer and the doctors' bills and I had to bury her with the golden band alone.
This was not all they took. My son's high school diploma, grandfather's Sinartra LPs, the stack of three-by-five index cards with my mother's recipes, all gone.
They're coming again tonight. I hope they'll take my life, but fear it'll be my mind instead.
