A Place To Call Home:

Spit hung from of the bar’s edge. He hadn’t meant to miss the spittoon, matter of fact, he hadn’t meant to spit, he’d drooled.

The realization kinda shook him awake, he coughed and snorted, much louder than planned, and, that kinda woke him up a little too. He blinked about six times, touched the handle of his revolver (because that always gives a man a little rush), and looked about the saloon.

He recognized nobody, but somehow knew he should. He shifted his feet (he’d given up sitting on the stool long ago, too dangerous, might fall), and hollered, “Barkeep….”
