Teresa let a long sigh escape, and slumped at the computer in the family-room.

“Deadline at work?” Her husband asked.

Teresa never heard him – didn’t even know he was in the house.

Leonard sauntered to her thinking, maybe a friendly shoulder rub…

Her head shook and shoulders squared, dismissing him without a word.

Looking over her shoulder Leonard saw that she was online, engrossed in a page titled “Mastectomy vs. Lumpectomy – FAQ’s”

In that instant the part of his brain way down in back, that part of the brain reserved for knowing without being told, knew that life had changed.

Fridays tend to be kinda slow. I think it's the illusion that you have all weekend to work on it.
