Stacy: Nothing Like Love

“Damn, honey, you’re a good kisser,” he breathed, brushing back her platinum blonde hair. They’d only just met, but what the hell, he’d rub one out with her and be home before midnight.

‘Yes, I am,” she said, her crimson lips sliding back to reveal abnormally long canines. She grabbed a handful of hair and yanked his head back. She slid her fangs into his jugular… or would have if the kevlar implants under the skin hadn’t turned them aside. She looked astonished as the stake slid into her heart.

“Should’ve played nice,” he muttered as she crumbled to dust.

The word is “stakes” from “Blood Rites” by Jim Butcher (Book Six in the Dresden Files series)

Well Gee. How hard can it be to find a word on page 47 of a book like that. “Blood Rites” by Jim Butcher
wow
Boring!

I mean, what do you have near by. The entire Library of Congress -- Devil/Monster section?

Try "Chilton's basic repair 1987 Sable"
Page 47 will give you torque specs.

I'm with David on this one, kasac. 'Torque' seems to be an ideal word for some twisted sort of love story.

Kasac, you are obscure at best, insulting at worst. If I'm boring you then you can go find some other site to stalk.

Stacy, I’m very sorry. Rereading my comment this morning, I see how offensive it must have sounded. I truly apologize.

I only meant to be sarcastic. The comment of boring was sarcastically pointed at the title of your book. Something about blood and Butcher seemed anything but boring.

I should not have let my frustration with myself, and inabilities, turn into a negative comment on your site.

Obscure is probably far too kind. But I am not an insulting person, not purposely, not ever. I greatly enjoy 100 words and have great respect for all the authors and their talent.

I did wonder, as you've never been purposefully rude before. Thanks for the clarification.

Some folks do books... others do This Day In History...

Whatever floats your goat.
