Volume 7, Issue 15
It was a dark and stormy night.
Yes, your story must begin with that line.
Difficulty: Must be told from the point of view of either Frankenstein, the Wolfman, the Mummy or Dracula.

“It was a dark and stormy night. Suddenly…”
Backstage, I’m visibly shaking with frustration. The play has gone well so far but now this happens.
“Suddenly…”
Damn that Billy! He wasn’t going to ruin this.
“Suddenly…”
Glancing around to verify nobody else sees, I wait until he is looking directly at me. Then I do the whole red eyes, bared fangs thing. Inside his Snoopy costume, the color drains from his face.
“S-s-suddenly a shot rang out!” he stammers triumphantly.
I smile and slip into the shadows. Nothing says Halloween like a third grade presentation of ‘It’s a Great Pumpkin’.

It was a dark and stormy night...
The calendar read "full moon" but I can't go out looking like this. Either it's a full moon or not. On three quarter moon nights I don't hair up, it's all or nothing. If I could see the moon I'd know for sure. Storm clouds or no, I only hair up on a full moon. So why does only half of me hair up tonight? That doesn't happen!"
"But it does everytime you have too much caffeine. Here chew on this for while. And stop pacing, you're shedding all over my kitchen floor."
